To identify the square, where you implement the count, please, use the 50x50 km or 10x10 km grid map. Download the KML file, and launch it at Google Earth. If you do not have Google Earth on your computer, you can download it here.
For field bird count we use standardized data collection protocol. It may be used both for transect and point counts.

You can learn identification of birds using training program, developed by our group. With progress of the trainee, the identification tests become advanced and the time for species observation consistently decreases. Below you can find the classes clustered by habitats.
